Anntian

Morning! Just a quick post, I stumbled across this incredible German label ANNTIAN just before Christmas & was blown away by their prints. I managed to wipe them from my memory while I was home & have just happened upon them again, it must be fate! I'm not going to do a better job at describing their stunning pieces than this overview from Totokaelo--

Designer duo Anne Hilken and Christian Kurt created ANNTIAN in 2006 while living in Berlin. The label aims to tell a story by revealing a little world within; the shown fictions are meant to sensitize and force a depth look upon things. Pieces are handpainted or handprinted, bringing a closeness and unique touch to everything ANNTIAN creates. The end result is a line of clothing that's reduced and clear, yet complex in detail with exquisite attention to detail.

See for yourself, beyond beautiful clothing that's flattering, stylish & designed to the beat of its own drum. IN LOVE!!!

Global Gathering

It may be a bit of an oldie but it's a goodie, this editorial from Vogue Russia August 2012 is just stunning isn't it?? I'm a huge fan of mix & matching prints, materials & global influences. I think these images are particularly effective in conveying this.

I really like the growing culture clash trend that's been gaining momentum year in year out on the catwalks. I love that designers aren't just looking to one specific place to draw inspiration from, that they're mixing up print, texture, colour, technique, materials & shapes from all over the globe & creating pieces that express, I think, the way we live now. Dries Van Noten is the obvious innovator of this style, but I love Matthew Williamson, Valentino, Dolce & Gabbana, Libertine & Mara Hoffman for their inspirational perspectives too. Here's a taster of catwalk & found imagery that I find inspirational, much more on my pinterest if this has left you wanting more!
