Iced Gems

I'm all for bright bold colours & print but sometimes I like a bit of subtlety. I'm not usually crazy for Pastels, I think they can be a bit insiped, prissy & tacky. We had a story a few seasons ago at work based on the Grey Gardens documentary which got me thinking about Pastels in a new way, anchored with black & clever fabrications. I think they work best when they've been toughened up a little, paired with iridescent materials or are really simplified, so the colour combinations do all the talking. It was such a beautiful frosty morning when I woke up today, I felt inspired to do a bit of Pastel searching. So, armed with a big mug of tea, off to Pinterest I went!
