Some of my favourite Artists...
Love Clare Woods' paintings, she works in oil and enamel on aluminium on a huge scale. I was lucky to see a painting of hers included in the 'Dark Monarch' exhibition at the Tate St. Ives. I haven't been able to find a website or blog for her, but I'll keep looking.
I think Beatriz Milhazes' work is beautiful, so energetic and colourful. Again, no blog/website but there's plenty of her paintings drifiting around the internet. There's so much life in her work- she fuses elements of her Brazilian heritage into her work, in particualr themes of Carnival.
I really like the work of Gem Elliott...
...Olaf Hajek...
...and Catherine Campbell...
Lindsey Carr's work is of great interest to me, very detailed and beautiful colours-
Sabrina Ward Harrison is a huge inspiration to me, I like the whole journal art kind of thing going on, wish I could create collages like her...
The same can be said for Brandon Boyd, artist and lead singer of the band Incubus. I love the way her draws and his books are definitely top of my wish list!
Other favourites include John William Waterhouse, Basquiat, Chuck Close, Robert Rauschenberg, Anselm Kiefer, Frida Kahlo, blah blah blah....I could go on and on!
Finally, there's this guy...
...and this guy...
I can't remember their names, wish I could, their work is Amazing!
Think I'll post my favourite designers and photographers tomorrow, I've enjoyed posting this-it's made me want to go do some more drawing.
